What is a Geodesign Mediator?

A Geodesign Mediator is a certified professional who facilitates map-based negotiation events using the Geodesignhub platform. When communities, developers, local authorities, or multi-agency teams need to reach decisions on contested spatial problems — a mediator runs the process. Once certified, you are listed in the Geodesignhub Mediator Directory where clients can find and hire you to run their negotiation events independently.

Why Your Background Matters

Graduate students in spatial disciplines already have the domain knowledge that makes a great mediator. You understand land use, conflict between stakeholders, infrastructure trade-offs, and design complexity — the exact context where Geodesignhub is used.

Urban Planning & Architecture

Fluent in masterplanning, zoning, and stakeholder engagement — the core context for negotiation events.

Landscape Architecture

Deep understanding of ecological trade-offs and green infrastructure decisions that are often the most contested.

Civil Engineering

Technical credibility in infrastructure and transport negotiations — essential for multi-stakeholder projects.
