Hello 👋! The City of Livingston is interested in improving Reservoir Park and wants to engage the citizens of Livingston. The city in, coordination with CV Studio, is looking for suggestions and ideas from the community for how this park can potentially be developed. The survey is anonymous, open to everyone in the community, and can be taken multiple times!

Background & Introduction

Current development patterns in much of Southwest Montana are proving to be a challenge at the municipal and county level. As these communities continue to grow, it is imperative to utilize proactive planning strategies centered on community input and consensus.

The focus area of this project is a 5.5-acre parcel of city-owned land known as Reservoir Park located on the North side of Livingston. This land is currently used as an informal park and undefined open space without signage, amenities, or connection to other parks and trails throughout the city. Reservoir Park is surrounded by single family residences, housing provided by the HRDC, and other city owned parcels. It also houses critical city water infrastructure which will need to be considered throughout this process.

The goal of this project is to facilitate conversations between a broad range of residents and develop solutions which benefit the entire community of Livingston. The voices of Livingston’s citizens are essential for any proposed solution to accurately reflect the vision and aspirations citizens have for their city. To facilitate this approach, a participatory method known as Geodesign will be used. This is a collaborative tool for the structured discussion of spatial planning and city policies.

Geodesign Survey

The first step to participating in this process is through a geolocated survey, where you can contribute your proposals for spatial planning and policies directly associated with Reservoir Park. • Use the link below to contribute a proposal and draw a small diagram to locate your proposal on Reservoir Park. Watch the 20-second video on how to draw a proposal.
• Then, select the category or topic of your proposal (transportation, active transportation, public space, green space, etc.)
• Finally, write a short description of what is proposed
• You can repeat this survey as many times as you wish

Geodesign workshops

The proposals submitted by citizens will be compiled and guide a series of workshops to help facilitate conversations about Reservoir Park. Each workshop will bring stakeholders together to analyze the results from the survey and negotiate a proposed solution that represents the community of Livingston.
